How does hypnosis work?
Whenever we are stuck and change feels beyond our reach, it’s often because the root of the problem is on a much deeper level than our conscious awareness. It is entrenched in the subconscious mind where automatic behaviors and beliefs are stored. Hypnosis is an amazing tool to unlock the subconscious and rapidly facilitate change.
In the hypnotic state, we become suggestible and are able to re-frame old problems in a new, healthier, and more positive way. Changes last because they are organic; because they are from you and to you. Hypnosis is neither psychology nor medicine. It’s somewhere in the nexus of science and spirit. Hypnosis borrows from many modalities (both eastern and western) to help clients break free from unwanted patterns and beliefs quickly, safely and easily.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Each of us is born with the natural ability to go into trance and do it spontaneously, such as in road hypnosis, playing video games, Hypnagogia (Google it ;-) zoning out, etc. A certified hypnosis practitioner specializes in inducing constructive trance for changework.
However, highly analytical people require a specialized approach to achieve trance with a practitioner and without this adjustment may think they cannot be hypnotized. Analyticals simply need the practitioner to recognize this difference and provide an appropriate approach for their processing style.
So, can anyone be hypnotized? The answer is--if you want to be hypnotized, you will be!
